The Cloister Concerts

Diocesan Museum – Brescia

Three appointments with the musicians of Teatro alla Scala.
Artistic project Maestro Sandro Laffranchini

  • Sunday, June 5, 2005: String Quartet "Italian Instrumental Ensemble".
It brings together the solo parts of the most important Italian musical institutions: Stefano Pagliani, first violin of Teatro alla Scala from 1980 to 1990; Rodolfo Cibin and Duccio Beluffi, first violins of the Scala; Sandro Laffranchini, first solo cello of Teatro and Filarmonica della Scala.
Fabio Furia, clarinetist, has performed for important musical institutions.
  • Sunday, June 12, 2005: Tango y algo mas.
A very high-level group, composed by Mario Marzi, the most quoted Italian saxophonist; Marco De Santi, winner of the Geneva International Competition and the Andres Segovia Competition; Sergio Scappini, the only permanent accordionist of Teatro alla Scala and professor at Verdi Conservatory in Milan; Gianni Arfacchia, permanent percussionist of Teatro alla Scala Orchestra.
The group was born from the desire to introduce the music of artists who, starting from musical phenomena of a clear popular character, came to the definition of a universal language, filtering and synthesizing their experiences in a more refined and unmistakably personal writing.
  • Sunday, June 19, 2005: The Cellists of Teatro alla Scala.
Prestigious "official" ensemble of Teatro alla Scala, which entered the programming in the 2004/2005 season of the Milanese institution and was host of the renowned Radio 3 Suite broadcast.
